Potter Shun Yamauchi’s Solo Exhibition “Daydream”


The works of potter, Shun Yamauchi will be on display in a solo exhibition at Makari. The creations of this Kyoto-born, Miyagi-raised artist include tea ceremony utensils, flower vases and sake drinking vessels. He’s known for his silver engraving technique, which is a method of firing pottery with silver, then scraping it off by both machine and hand. The opening reception will be on the 9th from 5-7 pm, and there you can enjoy wagashi (Japanese traditional sweets) from confectioner, Miyuki Hyodo.
