Rakugo is a traditional comic story telling enjoyed in Japan for over 400 years. Often described as “sit down comedy”, it features a lone storyteller dressed in a kimono entertaining guests with a comic monologue using minimum props. Katsura Sunshine is a Canada-born rakugo-ka (rakugo performer) who conducts rakugo both in Japanese and English. He will debut Off-Broadway this November at SoHo Playhouse. Celebrating this, Chopsticks NY is giving away tickets to his performances. 11 lucky Chopsticks NY readers will have a chance to win a pair of tickets to each show (One winners per show) indicated below. To enter the raffle, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Nov.10 with “RAKUGO & the show date you want to attend” in the header.
