I've read an article about Mr. Jones in 14th st. in amNew York, recommending the restaurant as the best of Yakitori (Chicken skewers) in New York. Has anybody tried the new restaurant? And any thought?
I heard that it opens today. How can it be the best yakitori place if it's not even open yet. There is something fishy going on there.....loosing its credibility as a newspaper... I mean Mr. Jones doesn't even sound like Japanese, what's up with that.
If you want yakitori, go to Yakitori Torishin or Yakitori Totto, it's always packed and need a reservation for sure, but it's worth it. Their yakitori is really good. My mouth is watering thinking about it....ooooogh
I've been there couple of nights ago before their official open. I think the decor is what I like about the place at first. The space was comforting with the nice lighting. Especially, the bar area was nice and round. They have dishes besides Yakitori skewers, which was fine. The quality was good, but the food took too long to arrive our table. (the service can catch up soon, I hope) I still think Tori Shin is one of the best in yakitori for the taste (authentic Japanese), Mr. Jones will be an interesting choice if you want to have date or girls night out. it's a bit pricy, though..
I love Yakitori Totto.
