The newly opened Robataya NY is designed with rustic decor and allows
customers to cook and eat freshly harvested ingredients around
farmhouse-style open hearths. Robataya NY also serves delicious
grilled yakitori and vegetables. Sake sommelier Chizuko Niikawa,
serves one of Japan’s best dry sake from Tengumai of Shata Brewery,
founded in 1823 in Ishikawa prefecture. According to legend, Shata
Brewery was once surrounded by dense forest where the mythical Tengu
lived. Like sake-loving humans, the Tengu would dance after drinking
the sake, so it was dubbed “Tengumai.” Please join this event for
delicious food, great sake, and excellent company. We will be tasting
three different types of sake: Tengumai of Junmai Ginjo Uma Gin,
Junmai Uma Jun, and Yamahai Junmai.
