Kurosawa's version of Sanjuro is one my favorite films of all time, so I'll be sure to check out this remake when it premieres! The original version is a tough one to beat, but I hope it's as good.
Kurosawa is god. They never should have done a remake of this film.
Well, I don't really expect much for the remake. Since the original is sooooooo good. By the way, have you seen the remake of Hidden Fortress (Kakushi Toride no San Akunin)?
Yes! I love that movie. By the way, did know that Hidden Fortress was a primary influence on George Lucas' Star Wars?
I do know the movie influence on Lucas. Some shots are identical, actually. He copied Kurosawa! I guess that's why he budgeted Kurosawa's Ran later.
Yes, your right about that. Star Wars is a samurai film disguised as a science-fiction adventure, and before "Ran", Lucas and Coppola also produced Kurosawa's Kagemusha.
